Jenny began her professional journey headed towards business school, but quickly discovered that her heart was not in it. She found herself feeling more inspired by interpersonal communication and completed her bachelor’s degree from the University of Utah in communication. Since she enjoyed learning about communication and its ties to relationships and mental health, Jenny decided to pursue a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Westminster College. Jenny’s clinical interests are multiculturalism, social justice and diversity, family systems, trauma informed practice, domestic violence, substance abuse and addiction, and psychodynamic theory.
Spending time in the mental health world made her feel as though she was finally surrounded by more like-minded people who embrace vulnerability, compassion, and the human experience. “Exploring one’s inner world is not an easy task to take on, but can be the most impactful and life-altering decisions we ever make. We may learn things about ourselves that are surprising and learning to embrace those things is empowering.” When not at work, Jenny is hanging out with her dog, Melo; going for walks, playing, or just snuggling on the couch. She enjoys exercise, shopping, and spending time with her loved ones.
