Rebecca received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from New Mexico State University and her Master’s Degree in Social Work from The University of Utah. Rebecca is from a small town in New Mexico. She moved to  Utah in 2010 with her husband and son. Rebecca began her work in the mental health field shortly after as a direct care staff in a residential treatment program. Since then she has worked with a diverse clientele, including medical students, incarcerated women, marriage therapy, and outpatient therapy. Rebecca has spent much of her career working with adolescent females and their families in a residential setting. She has expertise in working with complex family systems, and with clients who present a wide range of diagnosis. Rebecca utilizes a strength based approach and focuses on solution focused therapy. She is experienced in utilizing modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused, Motivational Interviewing, Trauma Focused CBT, and Narrative Therapy. She also has experience working with addiction. It is important for Rebecca to build a strong connection with her clients and their families. It is her greatest joy to help her clients create an increased sense of self and help the family heal their relationships and build a strong connection. “I teach my clients that they ‘can do hard things’, this is an important lesson for them as they navigate their intrapersonal and interpersonal relationships”. In her free time Rebecca loves to spend time with her husband and two children, playing softball, playing yard and board games, attending Salt Lake Real soccer games, and spending time reading fantasy novels.
