Torrence is a native Marylander, but heard the call from the Utah mountains. Torrence completed his doctoral training in counseling psychology at the University of Utah and spent years working as a generalist therapist with the young adult college population, primarily in university counseling center settings. Torrence’s clinical experience ranges from adolescents and families within a community setting, private practice experience, to trainings and workshops where he has provided individual, couples, and group therapy to diverse clinical populations and settings. Torrence’s clinical interests are LGBTQ concerns, identity development, trauma issues, social justice/ diversity/ multiculturalism, eating disorders/ body image issues, and mindfulness based practices. “I am always honored and humbled to witness the transformation that many of my clients make during their journeys of self-discovery.” Torrence enjoys spending time with his family and pets, exercising, practicing yoga, hiking, traveling, and listening to music.
