Lisa has worked in the social service field for over 20 years. She began her career with youth in juvenile justice system and working in several residential treatment centers with adolescents. Her Bachelor’s degree is in sociology, human development and criminology from the University of Utah. She received her substance use disorder counselor license from the University of Utah and worked in adult substance abuse treatment with clients and their families. Lisa received a Master in Clinical Mental Health Counseling degree from the University of Phoenix. She has been working as a licensed therapist using evidence based practice specifically Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, family structured therapy and trauma informed therapy.

In Lisa’s personal time she is a wife and mother, has many pets and enjoys doing outdoor activities with her family. She loves butterflies and believes in their symbolism of change and believes the girls are working on that progression to become their best selves with the support and guidance provided at Eva Carlston.
