CSW - Therapist
Monica received a bachelor’s degree in Social Work and an ASUDC (Advanced Substance Use Disorder) certification from the University of Utah, where she also completed a Master’s degree in Social Work at the University of Utah.
Prior to joining Eva Carlston, Monica worked in residential and outpatient treatment facilities for adults who suffer from substance use disorders. She enjoyed working with this population for over six years and learned a great deal from that experience she brings to Eva Carlston. Monica uses therapeutic approaches such as Motivational Interviewing, CBT, DBT, and Solution-Focused modalities and gravitate towards strength and evidence-based interventions.
“We all have the ability and potential to grow and find our best selves, every single day. Despite the adversities that have been experienced in life, the human spirit is astounding and the most resilient.”
Monica enjoys travel with her daughter and daily walks with her dog, Lillee. She loves all of Utah’s seasons (no matter how short) and you will often find her doing some kind of activity outside. She loves the mountains and spends a lot of time in them and surrounded by nature.
